Saturday 10 am - 5 pm, Sunday 10 am - 4 pmThe Beaumont & District Agricultural Society invites YOU to the Rural Roots Fair. Designed with families in mind, the Rural Roots Fair is a free, fun event for every age group. Located at the Beaumont Ag Society Fairgrounds, this event is only 10 minutes south of Edmonton, and 2 minutes West of Beaumont.
The Rural Roots Fair is focused on promoting outdoor and agricultural sports and activities within Alberta's Capital Region. Running both Saturday and Sunday, we will be featuring a large Kids Area, a Marketplace, Pony Rides, as well as presentations and demos from the other elements of the Ag Society. Come out to the Beaumont & District Agricultural Society Fairgrounds with the whole family to enjoy activities such as pony rides, a petting zoo, games, crafts for all ages, face painting, a "Meet the Maker" Marketplace and the opportunity to experience many exciting sports and activities that our region has to offer. Also featured will be the Ag Society's newest project, the Gobeil Heritage Barn, and the Gerry Patsula Community Gardens.
For those interested in equine events, the Rural Roots Fair has you covered. We will be hosting demonstrations and clinics on diverse equestrian disciplines and other local outdoor activities, have agriculture related kids games, and opportunities to interact with many amazing animals. One of the highlights of this event is the BADAS Breed Battle; a 5 discipline event that showcases the many breeds of horse in Alberta - putting them in competition to see which breed is the most athletic, trainable and versatile!
Make sure to mark your calendars for this exciting event.
This year we are pleased to announce that Kathy Playdon will be hosting our cross country clinic during the 2nd annual Rural Roots Fair. BADAS Breed Battle
Join us for the Second Annual BADAS Breed Battle. The Breed Battle will be a faceoff of the many breeds of Alberta horses to see which breed dominates in athleticism, trainability and versatility. Stemming from a rich history of breed competitions, the BADAS Breed Battle is designed to showcase and promote all breeds, with the most adaptable breed coming out on top. Each Breed will showcase their skills in five different disciplines spanning English and Western riding styles. The BADAS Breed Battle will span the entire weekend with exciting competition featured throughout the two day fair.
The 2016 Champion was Team Arabian, and the Reserve Champion was Team Tennessee Walker.
2016 showed some stiff competition, and we foresee some a fabulous showing for 2017.
